The Forest of Infinite Secrets at Bluewaters Art Festival, Dubai

2025

The Forest of Infinite Secrets was shown at the first edition of the Bluewaters Art Festival as a multi-screen indoor installation, presented within one of the festival’s designated exhibition rooms. The complete film was displayed across several synchronized screens, creating a focused environment where the work’s core elements of nature, architecture, and subtle cosmological references unfolded as a continuous world.

In addition to the installation, Rank SSS took part in an Art Talk on art, technology, and immersive experiences, presented alongside Kristel Bechara and Astrid le Suisse and moderated by Kanvas Dubai. The discussion brought forward the relationship between digital art, architectural thinking, and immersive media, adding a reflective and discursive layer to the festival’s program.

The installation highlighted the film’s attention to perception, memory, and spatial awareness. As the narrative advanced, changes in scale, composition, and environment were experienced directly in the room, positioning viewers inside its evolving landscapes. Architectural elements, natural structures, and atmospheric transitions moved across the screens as part of the film’s continuous visual journey, keeping the viewer anchored within its unfolding spaces.

Within the festival setting, the enclosed layout offered a quiet space for viewing the film in full length. The work followed its original pacing and transitions, giving visitors time to observe, reflect, and engage with the relationship between imagined environments and the physical space around them.
